Anger Management

ANGER MANAGEMENT

Anger is a completely normal, usually healthy, human emotion. Feeling angry is a natural human response to certain life experiences. It is our response to threat; when we come under attack, feel cheated, insulted or frustrated. It is beneficial when managed well, but is damaging when left unmanaged. It can lead to problems at work, in personal relationships, and in the overall quality of your life. Anger masks our ability to make good decisions and find creative solutions to problems. It affects our health too, leading to coronary heart disease, eating disorders, obesity and anxiety and depression.

Anger management deals with the management of one’s anger so that the damage to self, others and the environment is reduced. This involves understanding one’s anger patterns and learning positive coping mechanisms.

Lack of anger management can be disastrous. Anger management is a must for those who are not able to control their temper.  Anger affects their relationships with family, friends, and co-workers and even complete strangers.

Choosing to manage your anger is a step towards improving your health and relationships. You can build closer relationships, succeed in achieving your goals, and live a fuller and healthier life.
